How is it that I'm using the Windows 8, could I possibly download this and would it work perfectly? Sorry

I had this on a previous version of Windows Vista which was 64-bit and it worked perfectly. But when I tried installing it on a new version of Windows 8.1 (which was 64-bit), it wouldn't even install. It told me that it was compatible with the 64-bit version of Windows.

I had it for a year, but last week it stopped working and had to uninstall it because it was making my computer slow ans was not functional anymore.
